The Socialist organisation “Workers' Democracy” in Thailand fully supports the
position taken by Focus on Global South regarding the CPP and Walden bello.
Differences of opinion among the Left should not be resolved using violence and
such sectarian terms of abuse. Unfortunately the CPP has a history of using
violence against dissidents in the past. It has also failed to adjust itself to the new
recovery of global anti-capitalist struggles. Sectarianism towards the WSF and
anti-war movements in the Philippines are examples. We look forward to a
change of attutude by the CPP and to the full participation of the CPP in the broad
global movement. This is because the comrades in the CPP are undoubtedly an
important part of the anti-capitalist movement in today's Philippines.
