Focus renews its invitation to both amateur and professional filmmakers—youth, women, overseas Filipinos, their families or people working on migrant issues—to submit their proposals for the EDSA Mo, EDSA Ko video grant on or before June 25, 2011. This video grant initiative was launched in February to coincide with the launch of the EDSA Stories project, which includes a website. You may join one of these four categories:  open category (both for amateur and professional); youth category (open to those born after July 1, 1990); women category (for women applicants only); migrant category (open to overseas Filipinos or their immediate families based in the Philippines and those who work on migrant issues). Each of the 10 selected grantees/applicants shall be awarded P30,000 seed fund.

It’s easy to join and beat the deadline.  Simply submit the following:

1) Duly accomplished application form (downloadable at edsastories.focusweb.org);
2) Brief biography, for individual applicant; if it’s a team that’s submitting, include brief resumes of all members;
3) Concept paper of proposed video/film based on the theme “Re-imagining EDSA”; include initial inventory of projected audio-visual materials to be used in the video you will produce plus a timetable for the production.

You may submit the requirements personally to Focus offices on 19 Maginhawa Street, UP Village, Diliman, Quezon City, or through mail post-marked June 25, 2011 or via email.  If included in the initial long list of selected applicants, those who submitted through email will be required to go to Focus and submit their printed, signed application forms.  For more inquiries, please get in touch with Jerik Cruz at 433-08-99 or [email protected]
