On June 10, 2021 over 260 participants from 112 organizations, 11 schools, 4 local government units, and the media participated in an Indigenous Peoples Town Hall-style discussion. Organized under the banner of 1Sambubungan, the initiative brought together a total of 18 indigenous tribes from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, who deliberated on 5 main critical issues of Ancestral Domain, Criminalization, Identity, Social Justice, and national and local policies and programs. The presentations highlighted emblematic cases that underscored the experiences of IPs, the impacts of policies and programs, and the concrete demands to address these issues.
The 1Sambubungan IP Agenda 2021, State Violence in IP Communities:Stop the Criminalization of IP Struggles and Reframe State-IP Relations was developed based on inputs from the 1Sambubungan: Talakayang Bayan ng Katutubong Mamamayan (IP Town Hall).
